simply ...

simply thanking and hugging and squeezing christina tight for being a believer ... for her goodness in all things simple ...

you see, today christina has invited us all ... yes, all of us to join her in rejoicing and being grateful in all simple things big and small ...

and in doing so, her family has pledged to donate a dollar for each of our postings to haiti, where the smallest and simplest help is great ... bless you christina!

i am not sure there is enough cyber space for all the very simple bits about us that we are so grateful for in this part of the world ...

and i know it is late in the day ... but i want to try at least a few ...

i think i would have to let my senses be my guide ....

touch
holding hands . hug . a baby's cheek . petting an animal . digging in the earth . deep deep breath . bath water . an awakening kiss . jammies and bed and thick blankets . smooth stones . a kitten's paw ...

sight
my children . family . friends . everything nature from sunrise to sunset . first sprouts in spring / first rainbow in summer / first snowfall in winter / first fallen leaf ... moonlight and stars ... a smile ... flowers blooming ...

smell
fresh morning air . a baby's sweet breath after nursing . ground coffee . supper . morning toast . after the rain . my dad's pillow . campfire . freshly dug earth . freshly washed clothes ...

taste
fresh bread . vanilla ice cream . butter . salty chips . tea . butter and salt on new garden veggies . pie ...

sound
my boy's calling out 'mom' . my husband's snoring . my mom's voice on the phone . birds singing . cattle bawling . coyotes yipping . music . a heart beat . snow crunching . rain falling . breeze in the leaves . laughter of family and friends ...

i have only tickled the surface, but how i wish just one of these simple things to bring a moment of peace or joy or contentment to those suffering ...

one love

one

ps. oh and one more little simple thing ... over at 2bbb ...

I've been reading quite a few of these simple lists. They all make me smile. I like how you've broken your up, using the five senses. Beautiful list, for a beautiful reason...

They may be little things but they are sensed deeply and truly make life a pleasure. Your blog is lovely ~ the photos and serene tone make it a special place to visit. Thanks!

Oh that kitty's foot is just begging for a cuddle and rub. I know just the woman to do it, too. Isn't this idea of Christina's such fun? I love how many of us are roaming the blogroads stopping to say hello here and there. So, hello to you. Happy almost-Friday.
