the peaceful place tree

have you ever had an image speak to your every sense ... like, instantly?

enough to take you away for what seems like an eternity ... but all in a moment? ...

i have to say all of my senses were awakened fully when i saw this image for the first time ...

please click on image ...

i don't suppose my dear friend kim knew what she was capturing when she took this photo and so wonderfully added her artful touch to it ...

little did she know when she titled this 'branches of the peaceful place tree' did she know just how peaceful it would be to me ...

on first sight, it's the smell ~ that wonderful earthy smell ... right outside my bedroom window when i was a little girl ... especially after an autumn rain ... or after the sun warmed the frost ...

oh, that sound ... the wind as it tosses and plays with the leaves ... sort of that tinkling sound, but oh so delicately ... in a cool breeze you would think the leaves were shivering ...

and if the light is just right, the leaves have a silver shimmer in the summer sun ... and a full palette of rich browns in the autumn ...

and i can almost feel that waxy, knobby bark on those thin branches ~ not particularly beautiful, but so functional in supporting all those pretty leaves ...

thank you kim, for bringing back a 'peace' of the past for me so perfectly in your image ...

: : :

kim's photostream is getting quite a bit of attention these days ...

as are all her wonderful sign creations at her cafe ...

seriously ... if you have the time ...

and you need something uplifting ...

and you need to get in the spirit ...

you ought to stop by for a cuppa ...

and do tell her you are blessed beyond belief to find her! xo

You, my friend, are an artist of words! Your descriptions dance through my head leaving me with such sweet inspiration. Merci.

I have indeed had that happen to me...but I'm also the person who can contemplate a painting or photo or sculpture (etc) for 20 minutes before moving on.

I don't know what I'd do if bloggers like you didn't send me off to discover some of these fabulous people and their work! THANK YOU!

I especially love how you describe the knobby branches! Most folks would focus on the leaves, but there would be no leaves without those branches. Thanks, as always, for looking so closely at the world and describing it so beautifully. You always inspire me.
